Robert Burns was born and raised in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Burns parents met and married in Maybole and not long afterwards Burns was born in Alloway. His social and business life often centred around his hame toun of Ayr. His first love was from Dalrymple. He became enlightened in Kirkoswald and lived a bachelor life in Tarbolton. He spent a period lodging in Irvine before enjoying great loves but also suffering great losses in Mauchline.
