DUNFERMLINE
THE HERO'S KISS

Burns visited Dunfermline Abbey and knelt to kiss the flagstones of Robert The Bruce's grave. The tomb is now marked by a full size brass gifted by The Earl of Elgin in 1889.

Burns always dreamed of being able to write a song worthy of Bruce and Wallace so Dunfermline would have been a meaningful trip, the hero's kiss ...

Among the bonny winding banks
Where Doon rins wimplin' clear
Where Bruce ance ruled
the martial ranks
And shook his Carrick spear ...
